THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Playing together for only the second time this season, Tom Fawcett and Maciek Romanowicz captured the Sherwood Cup doubles title on Monday morning.
Fawcett and Romanowicz defeated USC's Max de Vroome and Roberto Quiroz 6-4 in the championship match. The duo also teamed up at the No. 2 spot against UC Davis last week, booking a 6-4 victory.
It was the second title at the event for Romanowicz, who teamed up with John Morrissey to win the 2014 event. Fawcett claimed his first career doubles crown, to go along with his USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships singles title back in October.
Stanford returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, facing South Carolina in Gainesville, Fla., when ITA Kick-Off Weekend gets underway.
