STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore cornerback Paulson Adebo was named second-team All-America by the Football Writers Association of American (FWAA) on Monday.

Adebo is the youngest Cardinal defensive player to earn FWAA All-America recognition, and joins Christian McCaffrey as the only Stanford sophomores to make the list.

In his first year of action, the Mansfield, Texas, native leads the country with a school-record 20 pass breakups and 24 passes defended (four interceptions).

Adebo ranks fifth out of 461 FBS cornerbacks with a plus-16.6 rating, according to Pro Football Focus. He is also ninth out of 461 FBS cornerbacks with a plus-18.2 overall rating, while quarterbacks have just a 56.9 NFL passer rating when targeting him this season.

Stanford (8-4, 6-3 Pac-12) will take on Pitt (7-6, 6-2 ACC) in the Hyundai Sun Bowl on Dec. 31 in El Paso, Texas. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. PT and the game can be seen on CBS.
