Center for Digital Health Awards Inaugural Seed Research Grants and 1,000 Apple Watch Devices to Five Stanford Faculty Teams
The Stanford Center for Digital Health (CDH) has awarded five seed research grants and a total of 1,000 watches from Apple Inc. to Stanford faculty. The five patient-oriented research studies are designed to study creative uses of the wearable technology to achieve meaningful health care outcomes.
The recently launched CDH aims to advance the field of digital health by connecting faculty experts to external stakeholders with the goal of enabling rich research and trial collaborations. “Our goal, simply stated, is to enable the Stanford community to do cool stuff to improve health care with technology,” said Mintu Turakhia, MD MAS, Associate Professor and Senior Director of Research and Innovation at CDH.
The Center provides platforms for digital health experts, industry members and students to come together and share knowledge; it also acts as an internal resource for the Stanford community, providing infrastructure and support in the field of digital health. “We aim to facilitate novel and transformative research with health care technology, leveraging the expertise and academic rigor of Stanford,” said Sumbul Desai, MD, Associate Professor and Executive Director of CDH.

Harnessing Mindset in Health Technology

ReClaim: A Virtual Therapist for Stroke Patient Arm Recovery
