STANFORD, Calif. - Four Stanford student-athletes were named Academic All-Americans on Friday, as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced its women's at-large honorees. 

Emily Arbuthnott (women's tennis), Kelsey Bing (field hockey), Brooke Forde (women's swimming) and Erin Voss (women's swimming) were all named to the first team. The Academic All-America at-large teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Stanford has featured at least one Academic All-American from the women's at-large pool in each of the last four seasons, including back-to-back years with honors for the maximum number of candidates a school can nominate: four. Stanford women's swimming has featured at least one Academic All-American each of the last four seasons. 

An economics major, Arbuthnott holds a 4.16 GPA and is a CoSIDA Academic All-America first team recipient for the second consecutive season. A three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, Arbuthnott also earned academic recognition at the conference level, being named to the 2020 Pac-12 All-Academic Honor Roll after two seasons on the Pac-12 All-Academic team (2018-19). Arbuthnott wrapped up the shortened 2020 season at 11-6 overall and 7-3 in duals while notching her 100th career singles win during Stanford's 7-0 shutout of Saint Mary's on March 3. A two-time NCAA team champion and three-time Pac-12 team champion, Arbuthnott is a two-time All-American and was tabbed the 2020 ITA Northwest Region Most Improved Senior.

Bing, the first Academic All-American in Stanford field hockey history, graduated from Stanford with a 3.95 GPA, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. Already named the NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete, America East Fall Scholar-Athlete, America East Elite 18 winner for her prowess in the classroom this season, Bing's Academic All-America honors cements her legacy of success both on the field and in the classroom. Bing led the Cardinal to three America East championships in her time on The Farm, including a win in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019. She finished her career at Stanford as a two-time All-American, three-time America East Goalkeeper of the Year and the program's all-time leader in career saves with 418.

A junior human biology major, Forde holds a 3.94 GPA. She is an 11-time All-American, three-time national champion, two-time Pac-12 champion, and was named the Pac-12 Women's Swimming Newcomer of the Year in 2018. She is a two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American, member of the 2019 Pac-12 All-Academic first team and a member of the 2020 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll. Forde has helped lead the Cardinal to two NCAA and three Pac-12 team championships.

Voss, who received her degree in computer science last weekend, boasted a 3.99 GPA during her time on The Farm. She was named the Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2020 and was a three-time CSCAA Scholar All-American, a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic first team honoree, and a member of the 2020 Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll. In her career she earned six All-America honors and was the 2020 Pac-12 Champion in the 200-yard backstroke. A team captain, Voss was a member of three NCAA championship and four Pac-12 championship teams.
