STANFORD, Calif. – Kayley Sullivan has joined defending national champion Stanford's coaching staff for the 2018 season, as announced by Knowles Family Director of Women's Soccer Paul Ratcliffe.

"We are very excited to welcome Kayley to our coaching staff," said Ratcliffe, who guided Stanford to its second national championship in 2017. "She is an excellent coach that will bring great energy and enthusiasm to our program."

Sullivan, a native of Lorton, Virginia, spent last season coaching for the Washington Spirit Development Academy in Virginia, also having spent 10 years coaching U4-U8 players in McLean, Virginia. Sullivan played four seasons at George Washington from 2009-12, graduating with a degree in psychology with a concentration on cognitive neuroscience and a minor in mind-brain studies after captaining the team her senior season. Sullivan holds her National Youth License and TOVO T1 Certificate, and is currently working toward a USSF C-License.

Outside of soccer, Sullivan has spent time researching with the American Psychological Association on social-emotional development as well as teaching for the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP) in Washington D.C. – she is certified in early childhood education as well as teaching English as a foreign language. Sullivan's younger sister Andi played four seasons at Stanford from 2014-17 before being selected No. 1 overall in the NWSL by the Washington Spirit.
