“Exquisite tone and sheer virtuosity”—The New York Times

“...Goosby plays like an angel with nothing to prove.” —Los Angeles Times

A charismatic violinist who breathes life into the pieces he performs, Randall Goosby places an important emphasis on highlighting the music of under-represented composers. In his 2021 release, Roots, he lends the vibrant light of his sound to pay homage and make further contributions to the legacy of African-American music. Randall Goosby makes his Northern California solo debut at Bing Concert Hall in a recital featuring William Grant Still’s Suite for Violin and Piano, Ravel’s Violin Sonata No. 2, Lili Boulanger's Deux Morceaux, and Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 9 (Bridgetower Sonata).

Program

  • Lili Boulanger: Deux Morceaux

  • Maurice Ravel: Violin Sonata No. 2

  • William Grant Still: Suite for Violin and Piano

  • Ludwig van Beethoven: Violin Sonata No. 9, "The Bridgetower Sonata"
