While Stanford has moved classes to an online format, the university remains open and most functions continue operating. However, all campus units have been urged to cancel or adjust large-scale events and to practice social distancing by conducting meetings through videoconference. ✓  Set Up Medicare Crossover Billing
Retirees enrolled in a Medicare Supplement Plan -- either the Blue Shield Retiree Medical Plan or the Health Net COB -- may be able to have Medicare and the health plan automatically work together to process your claims. This is called "crossover billing," which means that after Medicare pays its portion of the claim, they notify the plan of any outstanding balance, so there is less claims work for you to manage. To set it up:
  1. Call the health plan's member care services number, found on the back of your medical insurance ID card.
  2. Have your Medicare card handy; they'll need to know your 11-digit Medicare number and the effective date of your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage.
