My Next Journey

Kiana Williams reflects on her Stanford career after declaring for the WNBA Draft

By Kiana Williams

Where did the time go?

These last four years at Stanford have been nothing short of special. I began at Stanford with two goals: to receive an  unparalleled education from a prestigious university - and to win a national championship. In accomplishing both, I am excited to announce that I have decided to declare for the 2021 WNBA Draft.

None of these opportunities would have been possible without my village. I am grateful to my mom and dad for supporting me unconditionally throughout this journey. To my brothers, thank you for teaching me what it means to be resilient. I want to thank every coach, teammate, professor, and advisor I’ve had for pushing me to always become a better version of myself.

To Nerd Nation, thank you for welcoming and supporting me as an unassuming freshman determined to make my mark. I couldn’t have asked for a better exit: winning a national championship, in my hometown, my senior year.

Most importantly, I want to give all glory to God: I know who I am and WHOSE I am. With these blessings, I’m honored to embark on this next part of my journey.
