Cardinal at Work Cares: annual employee donation drive returns

Cardinal at Work Cares employee donation drive is now collecting travel-sized personal care items that will be given to families in need through local charities. Cardinal at Work Ambassadors are leading the November drive, with drop-off bins across campus, including SLAC, Stanford Redwood City and Stanford Research Park. New this year: donate online through the Cardinal at Work Cares Amazon Wish List, and help us collect enough items to fill 2,500 personal care packs at our assembly parties in early December.

Long-range plan goals and design team members shared on Our Vision website

While work continues in the five key areas that underpin Stanford’s vision for the future, the progress of the design teams will continue to be shared through the site. Their recommendations will be part of a comprehensive strategy that President Marc Tessier-Lavigne will present to the Board of Trustees and community in May 2019.

Employees gathered at Gibbons Grove on November 1 for our fifth Cardinal at Work Faculty and Staff Appreciation Pop-up. The Gift Wheel gave employees a chance to win gift cards, backpacks, cooler bags and water bottles. Many employees shared the spirit of giving by bringing travel-sized personal care products to support our Cardinal at Work Cares Donation Drive. Staff share their voice in Engagement Survey

Thank you to those of you who participated in the 2018 Staff Engagement Survey—more than 8,750 of you shared your voice and provided feedback on your experience working at Stanford. An overview of the university-wide results, including what we are doing well and how we can improve, will be shared with all employees in early winter quarter. Schools and units will begin sharing their local results after the university-wide results are announced.

November 9: Last day of Benefits Open Enrollment

The deadline to customize your health benefits and to add or drop eligible dependents from coverage is approaching. Any changes you make to your benefits during Open Enrollment will take effect on January 1, 2019.
